Course Description: During the course of a construction project, the electrical worker is often called upon to deliver equipment and materials to various locations around the jobsite. There are occasions when equipment and materials are too heavy to be moved by hand and requires the assistance of some type of mechanical device. This may be as simple as using a chain fall or require the use of a mobile crane. In either situation properly preparing and rigging the load is paramount . The topics within this class include vital information for rigging such as; how to load balance, how to calculate load weights, how to identify various sling and rope types, and how to select and maintain slings and ropes.
